BUY: SCHNITZER STEEL INDUSTRIES INC. (SCHN) Start Price: $43.70 Points: -5.71 Created: 01/06/2012 ( 1) In December 2011, Schnitzer said it expects its first-quarter operating income at its auto parts business to be 30% lower than the 2011 fiscal first quarter. ( 2) SCHN added that sales prices began to strengthen at the end of the quarter, but that it did not expect to see the benefits until later in the second quarter. ( 3) Just a wild gestimate here, BUT ... as a result of the SCHN pre-announcement, analysts "REDUCED" earnings estimates to the point SCHN should be able to BEAT the reduced expectations.
