Technical Issues

Is anybody else having problems making picks. I have been getting an error message which says unable to make picks right now because of technical issues. This has been happening since Sunday night.
I just figured out what happened. I was typing in the symbol for aflac and the list of symbols matching the search popped up. I chose the one that said aflac with the symbol being aflac. Of coarse that is not a real symbol so the system booted it out with an error message.
Happy trading....

What a WILD ride!

This market is extremely unstable and I am just waiting for it to burst. That being said it is still trending up and their is still money to be made by hopping on and going for that ride. I would be sure to set those stops, just in case.
On another note, I am afraid we may have lost a member because of the system's inability to handle splits. Havoc356 was a valuable resource to myself and I am sure countless others but he hasn't made any picks for over a week. I am guessing it's because he went from the top 5% all the way into negative territory all because of a few splits. I hope the admin fixes his account to show his true score and shoots him an e-mail of apology. His accuracy was incredible and he was active making picks.
Just my 2 cents. Happy trading....

SOLAR, FINANCIALS, RETAIL OH MY!!!!!

I have been watching these three sectors for some time now and believe that with oil trading so erratically (at least more than normal), I would hold off on the solar and oil sectors until we can see which direction oil is going to go. If oil keeps going down or stays below 120 the excitement or urgency over the solar/alternative power industries will not die but definately slow.

The financials are beaten and battered. This is going to make a lot of people a ton of money, if you pick the right one and hold on to it long enough (ie. have the balls to hold on if it keeps going down). Washington Mutual, Freddie, Fannie, Citigroup are all possibilities but don't bet your life savings on it. There are two financial companies Bank of America and Wells Fargo that are actually posting earnings but I am waiting for another pull back from them.

The retail sector is prime pickings right now. Most earnings are respectable and they are only going to get better as the retailers adjust their plans and inventory to work with this new economy. Officemax, Target, Pier One, Wal-Mart and Hansens are all good picks.

Happy Trading...
