I'm about 5 years from retirement and still have a ways to go yet to meet my financial goals...Thus, my style is agressive and tolerance is high...Seek Hi-yield investment in these volatile times in a fair mix of firms that are marketing opportunists, global overachievers and whose product concepts have substantial growth on the international, if not domestic, horizon...

EGLE is a dry bulk shipping firm, small in size, but has been finding its niche in that industry...though times for that segment of the water transportation industry has been tenuous of late, I am betting the the infrastruction boom will stimulate opportunities for stable firms in the sector. EGLE ships food grains, metal ore & products, building materials, fertilizers, liquid non-fuels, as well as drygoods...and need I remind, it rewards its investors with a nice dividend...
Highveld is an ore miner and steel producer located in South Africa and was recently bought out by a Russian metal miner/producer which had to shed HSVLY's vanadium assets to win approval from the EU for the takeover...Yet, HSVLY is geographically positioned to compete for the building buffet in Asia, Africa, Australia and other parts of the Eastern Hemisphere...It has also been making some very hefty payouts over the past couple of years, though I believe a good much of them have been the resul… More
This is another of my pipeline plays...this one located in the Southcentral part of the U.S. (out of Houston, I believe...remember Enron, anyone? Oks is a survivor of that debacle organized as an MLP (as are most of the pipelines)...It is required to payout most of its profits to its shareholders.
I admit that I can't pronounce the name of this steel mining & production firm, but I do know that with infrastructure being the watchword in the U.S.A. and in SouthAmerica and in China and in various other parts of the world, SID is positioned to take advantage of the continental and international opportunities that abound...and although it has reduced its dividend, the current payout is respectable...
People are going to smoke regardless of all the hoopla about tobacco's health hazards...The forward looking Philip Morris empire is taking on UST to acquire its non-smoking tobacco lines...which already has a dinosar's share of the that segment of the industry...PM has a dynamite marketing acumen (remember Marlboro?) and will take the ball and "go all the way." Plus, they have an excellent dividend paying record...

EEP is an Oil pipeline transportation play...which are highly a highly regulated field and provides a nice wide moat for the firm which hooks up to its sister network out of Canada...it brings in Canadian supplies down to the Northcentral U.S. ...did I say it pays a nice steady dividend?
Ship Financial is an affiliate of Frontline, which spun it off a couple of years ago...They have an interactive relationship and can reverse their current relationship if the need ever arises...SFL has a very nice dividend...
Knightsbridge is a stable oil shipping firm and will survive any economic wavering in the market...if not, FRO is positioned to take it out...also VLCCF has a high and solid dividend...
The largest of the VLCC's...There is bound to be a shakeup in the oil shipping industry and as frontrunner, FRO is financially positioned to takeover any laggards in the field...
