About Me
Canadian hyperactive investor. Jobbing student in training earning a wage and playing Warcraft, Battleknight, Gladiatus and Unreal Tournament during the times I could spend my money.
Video games cost so little lol. Why buy useless stuff when you can buy undervalued stocks ?

This is a good company, no debt and an increasingly important product. They make the device that allow to recover a part of energy used in reverse osmosis desalination of sea water to provide water in dry zones such as Australia. Their stock was beaten a lot. While I usually prefer to buy things when tangible equity is inferior to market cap, I am ready to put the premium dollars on the table. I did so in my real portfolio 2 days ago and forgot to come here to make the pick. Now I make the … More
Priced in : Sun has 50% chance to stop emitting light in next 2 weeks. Reality : Sun will keep emitting light and solar panels will be required sonner more than later if we are to avoid the worse of climate change. This stock has a rock solid balance sheet, more equity than its current market cap, so the wait will be possibly long, but punctuated with additive purchase of the stock on weakness.
Buying this thing is like buying a residential real estate developer in 1955 in America. Brazil is just on the initial upward phase of its development slope. The company has a decent balace sheet, it builds units and sells them. This is all what is needed. The price is a bit higher than what I would have liked to pay, but better a little bit high now than just missing this for next 15 years.
This company is not a bargain. However, as a defensive pick, it is crazy good. People need its information and service more than ever in times of recession. They have nice and accessible research services and they cover a wide range of asset classes. They are also in many countries and financial service industry needs their service, and the worse financial professionals I saw were just not using and dismissing Morningstar tools. In fact, when you invest in a fund, company, or anything els… More
This is not a bargain, this is just an unkillable company, the kind of thing that will survive any recession given it is not due to Earth destruction or Mutant Invasion. The thing is also high growth, wide moat and exponential opportunity. Why do I say that ? Wolverine was a comic character and now look what is made with him. Films, video games, comics, maybe plastic men you can buy for your kids, and I am looking forward the day I can walk in a hair-cut place and be proposed a Wolverine … More
The thing performs relatively well, is low priced when we look at market cap vs shareholders' equity and it is not covered by analyst as much as a 7 billion $ company should. Eventually, its relative performance and avoidance of government ownership will attract an analyst to yell buy or at least to initiate coverage.
This is a bank I should have bought way earlier than now. It happens I analyse it correctly and take the required time now. The capital is insanely high, the NIM is crazy good and the loan quality stays acceptable. Furthermore, this bank had more than a stress test in 2002, Argentina defaulted on its debt, and yet it returned to profitability just after... After all, when you are well managed, it seems the country default is just a bump on the road. This bank seems able to survive anything … More
Phosphorus is universally intense. The day US dollar is worthless, then phosphorus will prevail. Between now and then, IPHS has nice earning power and cash flow, and this is cool because this means US dollars come in and they are still worth a little bit of something.
Added it to my real portfolio at 34.10. I did not just come here at that time. Still at less than 40% the thing is under 70% of its net asset value (shareholders' equity is still 1.5 times market cap). I do not like to invest in pharmaceuticals, either dull and no bargains or ultra-high-risk 1 pill marvels that depend on 1 pill to work or not... However all these geniuses provide excellent jobs and they also have a quality I deem secure for ARE: They need a lab and will rent it from ARE and if t… More
They trade on Toronto stock exchange under NEM. They are also found on pink sheets. They have very low debt, operate in an ultracyclical sector, yet technologically evolved presenting some moat. The point is that at their current price, they trade at 1.25 times shareholders' equity. In expanding economy, they show the capacity to generates sales greater than their current market capitalization.
This is the kind of stock that can be bought and hoarded until 2015 if economy just take all… More
