These gathering systems will be acquired in a series of transactions from Atlas America, Inc., Resource Energy, Inc. and Viking Resources Corp. The gathering systems consist of miles of intrastate gathering systems located in Eastern Ohio, Western New York and Western Pennsylvania. This stock has done poorly for a number of reasons, but primarily I believe it was just caught up in stunning drop in commodity prices.
In general, I am still bullish on energy and I don't believe prices will stay this low for an extended period of time. If they do, many more energy companies are going to have a very hard time.
It is currently trading near is 52-week low ($5.52) and is well off it's high of $45.99.
I'm betting that the energy sector will snap back...hopefully sooner rather than later...and the stock price of APL will follow. Time will tell.
Until then...I wish you profitable investing.
