Avnet, Inc. (AVT) announced that its operating group – Avnet Technology Solutions - signed a distribution agreement with Lincor Solutions. Under the agreement, Avnet will become a specialty distributor for Lincor’s hospital point-of-care clinical access and entertainment system, MEDIVista.

Avnet operates in two segments: the Electronics Marketing (EM) Group and the Technology Solutions (TS) Group. The TS Group distributes mid- and high-end servers, data-storage gear, networking equipment and software.

Founded in 2003, Lincor has gained international recognition for its flagship bedside point-of-care solution - MEDIVista, which is a computerized gateway to hospital-wide services that eliminates cumbersome and outdated paper-based processes in turn for secure, patient-safe procedures and real-time data and clinical functionality.  In addition,  patients can access a range of digital entertainment services.

Avnet will distribute MEDIVista and provide integration services to qualified value-added resellers (VARs) supporting the U.S. healthcare market.

Lincor’s MEDIVista system will be incorporated into complete technology solutions provided through Avnet’s HealthPath practice. HealthPath enables VARs to deliver industry-specific solutions that meet the business needs and industry requirements of hospitals, clinics and managed care facilities.

Earlier, Avnet Technology Solutions, and Brocade (BRCD) jointly announced a program called Avnet Accelerator for VARs in the U.S. and Canada. This program will enable resellers to design and implement advanced data center solutions for customers who face challenges related to virtualization and application proliferation. The program provides the necessary tools, training and business assessments for channel partners to invest in breakthrough Ethernet fabric technologies from Brocade.
