  I like NCR for analyst overlooked potential spinoff components ... like Teradata Corp (TDC),  NCR spun off TDC in a one for one transaction on 9/30/2007.  TDC went from around $15 per share to around $50 today.  Since TDC was 52.37% of the cost basis of NCR ... what analyst got the value of NCR right?   NONE! 


     Is reading the annual reports worth it.  You bet!

( 1) NCR Corp. (NCR $16.54 -$0.08 -0.48% ) late Thursday said third quarter (Q3) net earnings from continuing operations were $16 million, or 10 cents a share, compared with $78 million, or 48 cents a share, a year ago.

( 2) Total revenue at NCR, which makes point-of-sale and other transaction systems, rose to $1.4 billion from $1.21 billion a year ago.

( 3) Adjusted earnings for the most recent period were 53 cents a share.

"Analysts polled by FactSet Research had expected earnings of 47 cents a share on $1.36 billion in revenue. The company raised its 2011 adjusted earnings forecast and now expects $1.79 to $1.83 a share. NCR previously expected $1.73 to $1.80 a share. Wall Street currently expects $1.81 a share."
