SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Zagg Inc., a maker of accessories for mobile electronics, said Thursday that it will join the Russell Microcap Index on Friday.

The company said its shares will be added to the index when Russell carries out its yearly reconstitution of its indexes.

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization to create the Russell 3000 Index and the Russell Microcap Index. Membership in the Microcap Index remains in effect for one year.

Stocks often rise after they are added to major indexes as they are bought by managers of investment funds that mirror the indexes.

Shares of Zagg rose 6 cents to end at $2.55 in regular trading Thursday.
