STEC Inc beats by $0.09, beats on revs; guides Q3 EPS above consensus, revs above consensus (15.66 +0.03) : Reports Q2 (Jun) earnings of $0.09 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.09 better than the Thomson Reuters consensus of ($0.00); revenues fell 29.1% year/year to $61.3 mln vs the $50.1 mln consensus. Co issues upside guidance for Q3, sees EPS of $0.18-0.20, excluding non-recurring items, vs. $0.13 Thomson Reuters consensus; sees Q3 revs of $78-80 mln vs. $68.28 mln Thomson Reuters consensus.
STEC Earnings Call Summary (15.65 +0.02) -Update : In prepared remarks, mgmt stated that DRAM accounted for 21% of total revs, while flash accounted for the remaining 79%. They also noted that international sales accounted for 56% of total revs in the qtr... In Q&A, the co said that ZeusIOPS revs in Q2 were $34.7 mln. In Q3, the co is expected sell about $50 mln in ZeusIOPS... Mgmt said that, at the end of Q2, it had 3 customers that each accounted for greater than 10% of sales... When asked about the industry outlook, mgmt says that what they are seeing in SSD demand is encouraging. The co cited a recent IBM announcement and demand in Japan... The co said that it is qualifying other flash providers to ensure that they have another supplier... Co says it has seen samples of competitive technologies in SSD, it speculates that it could see competition in 2H11. Additionally, STEC ended Q2 with no long-term debt... In regards to ASPs, the CEO said, in Q&A, that prices have stabilized, but failed to provide any more granularity... When asked about inventory, mgmt stated that it does not plan on building any NAND inventory in Q3.

Made some money last night = bought 200 with limit of 15.86last night while I was in shower - sold at market last night at 16.25.
I bought at 15.61 today and it went down on volume - sold on some up tick at 15.57 - I am glad did that - can buy at 15.21 at the time of writing the blog.

I am long Sept 13 call and short Sept 15 call at this time - cost 1.28 - meaning if stock closes above 14.31 in next 30 days - I make some money. I will close the trade in 10 to 15 days.
Profit target 30% - meaning stock need to move up by $1

Or you could just short this stock as it's goin to a target of below $9. You buy stocks in the shower? Crazy.

Mr Burtman,
Can not you have some fun in life. No one buys in shower - means I had a limit order in system and got filled at my limit. When I come back and found the stock was up with bid of 16.25 ask 16.30 = just sold at market.
It paid for a nice dinner.
All I did was share real money trades on STEC - it is up to you to call me crazy. To be frank one need to have some sense of humur and a little crazy to love trading. If a trader is 100% straight laced = will be carried in EMS vehicle. Check out their stock - they are making good money.
ONE REQUEST SHARE YOUR GREAT REAL MONEY TRADES - PLEASE FOR NEXT TWO DAYS.
Why do not you short STEC with your real money - it will be more fun and profitable. You can share your real money trade on this stock. Traders on site will love and cheer you.

I am stupid and eat left overs = my results show it. I lost money to margin account. Can not trade with real money and get my kicks by bothering others.boohoo - better to go back to my play pen and suck my two thumbs, thaat is better than whackin off /farting in my smelly diapers. 3J

A note for every one- I had told 3J and his multiple personalities - there is plenty of web space to spew what ever they wish to do.
Please do not write stinking graffitti on my web wall.
I will treat every one with respect. I make stock picking mistakes and I pay for my mistakes. I also enjoy when things go right. I am getting better every day. I have learnt a lot from day to day stuff. - Like made $18 X3 on RMBS sold at 19.19 this morning and made $54 after trading cost - bought again at 18.99 and sitting on $8 loss.

I always add (My views are just my views and my research) - Please do your own home work. Did I make ton on money on STEC - heck No - just enough for a nice dinner. I am loosing $6 on my option spread at this time

I am having fun in life. I'm having a great time. Just wanted to know what buying stocks in the shower was like. You have to understand the responsiblility of putting yourself out there RJM. You put together some risky trades right before earnings. Some work out, some don't. What happens to the newbie investor who jumps on board? Do you post all of your moves real time or after the fact? If they follow your quick trading advice and panic, well what do they do? And how do we know you aren't posting all of your true trades? Are there any losers? Seems everything you do is a winner. Why not a longer term strategy? Can you see that far? Or are you constantly watching every tick? These are just questions from the other side. Maybe bring you back down to earth? =) Have some fun too. Oh, and thanks for writing to everyone, we really appreciate it.

Every one takes their own risk. One of blog said - Get training - pay for learning or pay to market.
No I do not post all my trades for some jokers to laugh about.

I have a paid service for few select clients for swing trades. I do not publish on this web site. I charge decent fee /month and provide detailed info for trades with specific buys / sell points.
No one is forcing any one even jokers like 3J to trade on my picks - all he can see is red - HE SHOULD KNOW HIS ACCOUNT SWIMS IN RED - IT THERE TO SEE. HE LAUGHS AT $50 PROFIT ON LOW RISK IN FEW HOURS - THAT IS WHY HE IS SWIMING IN RED.
I am not putting out there - All I do is share my thoughts with the other folks - some like - some hate it. Jealous folks pick on others. This mean I am doing some thing right. Folks who undtstand trading know what I am talking about.

Most of the folks understand how to trade or one should paper trade.
Sites like this one allow you to learn with out margin calls

Not bad so far on the way to $9 no? You mention that we must add value so I will. I watch the Slow Stoch and MACD of stocks. On the day you were pumpin this one the MACD started a waterfall, continuing today and the slow stoch was pointing down. Will it reach $9 on this run down, I doubt it but 18.75% is pretty good for 7 trading days worth of work.
My trades Hoping and praying since Feb 2 for $9 for STEC I lost 28 points on STEC and love it. I was having a long shower when STEC went from 10.28 to 15 and broker made margin call. You know I was short on STEC.

Sure I was wrong and accept it. As a trader I accept my mistakes. It does not require rocket science to learn in a hurry when you made a bad investment. Then there are your well wisher who will remind you for every bad move.
Market goes up and market rolls down.
