W.O.M. World of Medicine AG is a Germany-based company, engaged in the manufacture of medical devices used in minimally invasive surgery (MIS). It operates through two divisions. Flow and Fluid produces tube systems, pump systems for arthroscopic, laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and ureteroscopic indications and insufflators used for abdominal cavity endoscopic procedure. The Company's products assist with the controlled distention of body cavities by using gases and fluids. The Vision and Images division offers products for visualization and transmission of diagnostic data, such as cold light sources, one-chip and three-chip cameras, monitors and video documentation systems for visualization of MIS. Its Laser U100plus product is used to eliminate kidney, urethral, bladder and gall stones. The Gamma Finder is used for the detection of potentially cancerous lymph nodes. As of December 31, 2009, the Company owned two fully consolidated subsidiaries in Germany and one in the United States.
