Not Mantle and Maris but Medivation (MDVN) and Map Pharmaceuticals (MAPP) showed solid gains on healthy volume today. News today was that the phase 3 confirmatory trial for Dimebon for Alzheimer's disease, if positive (and a BIG but hopeful if!) could generate 2 bil revenue by 2015 and may be announced in Mar, although not official. This is grandslam v. strikeout. MAPP (see prior blogs) is more like a consistent singles .300 hitter.

Howdy, Neurodoc!

The New York Yankees! Biotechnology and pharmaceutical equities! These are a few of My Favorite Things (http://tinyurl.com/2kwnxm).

Thanks to you, I plan to conduct my research and analyses of both MDVN and MAPP with all due diligence during the next week or so.

Good luck!

It may be time to take half of the profit off the table - just by looking at chart. I do not know much about the fundamentals. You know better about the growth driver.
Or buy some protecion and let the profit run

The potential growth drivers are 1) Dimebon is potentially disease modifying, not just another symptomatic drug like Aricept, and 2) no other truly disease-modifying agents appear to be imminently available. Zacks analysis especially doesn't emphasize #1. I haven't bet the ranch (about 10% of my portfolio).
