Awhile back, I did a study looking at share price. I found stocks whose share price makes it in the  92-93 price range tends to hit 100. Once it hits 100 it quickly moves up another 3-6 percent.

Using some other data factors in consideration, I wrote or made comments about it on this site. At this point, every stock I stated  has gone forward to hit the big 100.

The latest stock that going to make it to 100 and better is DECK.

DECK, our latest super growth (pig) stock.

Sometimes it takes a little while to get there, but evidently they make it. So have some patience.

I normally will sell the stock within a few days of hitting it's target.

Doing this ongoing in a bull market makes for some easy profits.

Mo,

Your idea very simply lends itself to programming in Research Wizard. So here is a screen of a weekly changing pack of 10 stocks that compounded 210%/year in the current bull market and 80%/year in the last one. Just select stocks with share prices in excess of $0.94, with a market cap in excess of $50 million, and with daily dollar volumes in excess of $120,000 (don’t invest more than $1000 in a single stock):

(1) MovingMean4(i5)*i22>120,000 and i5>0.94 and i21>50
(2) i5 Bot#24
(3) i5 Top#10

Be prepared for a maximum drawdown of -32%! For somewhat less demanding speculators, you “only” get 150%/year when you replace the last two lines by:

(2) i21 Bot#12

with the recent results of this weekly changing pack of 12 stocks having somewhat more momentum (WTD 2.37%). Be aware that practically all stocks selected have a share price slightly higher than $1.

In bear markets, this screen works pretty well for short positions.

Good investing,

John

Those in my 'special situation' packages must also show earnings and/or revenue / sales growth and potential. However P/E is not a factor.

Low volume stocks are bad news, so $120000 is not good enough even if you just want to buy $1000 worth of shares. The bid ask differential on low volume stocks is very high because market maker needs to make enough money. So if you trading weekly, stay out of low volume stocks.

I don't see a liquidity problem with DECK. It's worst week out of the last 52 is about 6%. Also I have a winning average on 'special situations' of 100%. I will have a miss someday. Will this be it? Anyhow, thanks for the comment. yes, overall preference is higher volume stocks
