I've been trying for several days to find details on the dividends being paid by Bank of Ireland. I finally found info at the following link:
http://www.adrbnymellon.com/files/AD29751.pdf
The bank declared a "Rights Issue" with a record date of 5/17/2010 for 3 rights for every two ordinary shares. Their ordinary shares are not traded in the US. Rather, the securities are traded as ADR's (American Depository Receipts). Since the rights were not registered under US security regulations, the administrator of the ADR's (BNY Mellon) sold the rights and is disbursing the proceeds as dividend payments (about $1.017/depository share). Morgan Stanley shows the ex-date as June 7 and the stock price was adjusted for the split on that date. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on June 11.
