garmin's buisiness is gps production. gps system's is very complexity.so,new competitor don't appear soon.far, high roe and high net profit is likely to come from b to b gps business. garmin also provide defense production to forcement.defenser can't easily ride to other competitor company. becausedefense is importance thing, our life security. i like garmin business.it's unique.

Hello daisuke,

Sorry to disagree, however, you need to be aware of this.

Google’s GPS announcement tanks TomTom and Garmin shares:

MAGE,

Thanks for the info. On further analysis, GRMN has some of the best fundamentals out there with no debt and a very low valuation compared to its peers. It has a very nice net margin and return on assets. It pays a very high dividend for an electronics company. From a technical standpoint it looks good too as it has outperformed the S&P over the past year, and while google "can't fail," it does look a bit parabolic right now. While GRMN is not a growth stock, it does have great fundamentals and a solid product in multiple markets, and even if cell phone GPS technologies wipe out it's consumer hand-held GPS market, GRMN has that priced in and will do well with very low risk of failure.
