I did some basic analysis about DARA in my last post, and for the sake of better understanding the whole situation, I strongly recommend reading it before you start this one. Check out the link hereunder:

Let’s put DARA’s recent events together, so we can have a clear thread:

DARA presented promising preclinical type 2 diabetes study results at the Cambridge Healthtech Institute's Conference(11/3-4)――＞DARA presented results of its phase 2 study for KRN5500 at the 12th International Conference on the Mechanisms and Treatment of Neuropathic Pain(11/19-21)――＞This afternoon, DARA is scheduled to present at the 13th Annual Biotech & Specialty Pharmaceuticals Industry Investor Conference(12/1, 1:30pm EST)

If we didn’t read the introduction of DARA’s management team, we may just think that DARA simply wants to find collaboration for its leading drug candidates at the investor conference. But let us dig into the management team’s history and look for some new threads of DARA’s future development:

“The senior management team has substantial experience in the formation of biopharmaceutical and medical device companies. They understand how the development and commercialization processes come together to build a successful pharmaceutical brand. Collectively, the leadership team has formed more than 10 companies that have launched successful products and provided a significant return to its investors.”

From what I saw above, it may not just that simple that DARA only wants to find collaboration with other big companies. And I won’t be surprise if DARA become the No.11 of the leadership team’s history after the investor conference.

Just like what I predicted for MBRX, I believe that DARA has the chance to be another takeover too. But will it be a more successful one? Let’s keep close eyes on it.
