CMED has been in my watch list for couple years, and I found a very interesting thing: there is an apparent earning effect for CMED. If you take a look of the chart, you will notice that CMED had a huge gain after earning report.
The first quarter earning report showed that CMED has about 1.5 billion RMB ($220M)cash and equivalent in hand. There was a $0.53 dividend payout in Sep. and CMED announced $30M stock repurchase in the same month.
Although CMED’s leading product ECLIA (Enhanced Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) slows down the pace, but FISH (Fluorescent in situ Hybridization) and FISH Imaging Analysis System grow at a 50%+ speed.
CMED received marketing approval for its’s SPR system and FISH Probe from china’s SFDA recently. With the outlook of China’s 4000 billion investment plan and the health reform, I am expecting that EPCT will go back to $30 level in the coming year.
CMED will release Q2 earning report before market open on 11/19, lets see how it will dazzle us tomorrow.
