IO or ISYS

Date November 17, 2009     Comments Comments (7)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (7)
Which one of these charts would you go with ?

I would chose IO as there is much less overhead resistance and a longer base. Someone who looks at the really short term might chose ISYS thinking that IO has risen too much in the the last three weeks.

Lets see how this plays out.

Long term Chart suggests JMBA ready to move,

AFN also looking ready to go up over the next few weeks and months.

Scoring

Date September 22, 2009     Comments Comments (13)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (21)
A guy who is just learning at the first page and the highest average return. The scoring is quite unrealistic, and could use some improvement. Until then its just a game. Just JOE could put up 10000 picks and get back to the first page.

Sorry but, I have had it.

Probably going to be spending less time here.

My Speculation Play of the week

Date September 12, 2009     Comments Comments (19)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (27)
RXII

Why - CYTR owns 45% interest in RXII. If someone wanted to accumulate shares in RXII they would do it silently by buying shares in CYTR ( see CYTR volume this week ). At this point this is pure speculation, but makes simple sense. I wonder what MRknowhen exhaustion analysis would say about RXII. This is one, that even 3J would like since it has not already doubled. Again this is pure speculation.

Disclosure: I hold no position in RXII, I have a tiny position in CYTR.

SUPG about to Break up or Down

Date September 10, 2009     Comments Comments (35)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (50)
If we look at the chart for SUPG on a weekly basis, we see a pattern of three weeks tight, after a recent increase/gap in price ( from four weeks ago ). Usually after three or four weeks tight pattern the stock will move ( not always ). One could buy the put and the call for October as a speculative play assuming if the stock moves enough one way or the other you make money. Or simply buy the shares,

The short ratio is 12, meaning about 12 days on normal volume for shorts to cover. Tota…

SGMO - Zinc Finger technology

Hi Gents,

This article suggests the ZINC Finger technology works. I think SGMO has a patent on this, and based on the news item they may be getting some big royalties from SIAL. In any case, I think its very interesting, and could be game changing technology.

HWKN - Hawkins Chemical

Date August 22, 2009  Edited: August 23, 2009     Comments Comments (13)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (42)
This came out of my good and cheap scan in which I look for smaller market capitalization, growth in sales >25% and price to sales less than 1.5. Essentially I am looking for smaller companies that are growing and priced cheap. Then I look at the charts for a breakout. HWKN has good ROE, P/S < 1 EPS for next year est = 2.62, Dividend yield greater than 2.5%.

I see this one as a GEM for a longer term hold.

Others with charts that look a bit interesting are,

MYL, ISH, EVEP.. ( remov…

CYTR - WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CHART

Date July 1, 2009     Comments Comments (4)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (55)
From a technical perspective this looks like an excellent chart - for a longer term hold 3-5 months or more. ( provided it keeps going up ).

As for the fundamentals, you need to do your own research.

Buying some, ( maybe even on a pullback ) and then having a stop in place, could be a good strategy on this one.

Happy Trading.

Disclosure, I don't own any shares yet.

Tekmira - RNAI interference

Date May 18, 2009     Comments Comments (0)    Rate this post Recommend This Post (82)
Is speculative, but with agreements with Roche, JNJ, BMY and Merck, maybe its a good idea to buy some for a little long term gamble.

I don't like pink sheets, but it trades on the tsx under TKM.to

Cheers
