Hi Mack!

Thanks for the links. It's also been a pleasure to read the other articles in the New York Times this morning. Thanks again and Go Yanks! A.K.

Howdy, AK!

Thanks for the links.

My pleasure.

It's also been a pleasure to read the other articles in the New York Times this morning.

I guess I take the local newspaper of record for granted, but you make a good point: There are some other pretty good pieces in the Times today. Of course, I personally would not have led the Business section with the Weed-Killer-in-the-Water story. I mean, I was trying to drink my Mocha Java French Roast here! Meanwhile, I could not read the Sports section because I was actually awake and saw the Red Sox-Yankees game yesterday. The horror, the horror . . .

Good luck!

Hi Mack,

Well, you can't avoid the Sports section altogether today or you will miss the "Bojangles came to theYankees defense" article, which was rather entertaining...AK

Actually, that story was posted yesterday, so I did read it then. Interestingly -- or not -- a different Bill Robinson was traded to the Yankees between the 1966 and 1967 baseball seasons, which is when I officially became a fan of the team. Regrettably, this Bill Robinson did not play well for the Yanks, but he did go on to have a pretty good career with the Pennsylvania teams (i.e., the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates).

Good luck!

This thread is discussing both economics and baseball, so I'm hoping for an Adam Smith-like book titled "The Wealth of Nationals." Given the payroll of the hapless Washington Nationals, the book would be a work of fiction.
And, speaking of bad Yankee teams of the second half of the '60s, the reading public is breathlessly awaiting biographies of Horace Clarke, Steve Whitaker, Dooley Womack, etc.

Hey! I know people who make the same claim about The Wealth of Nations!

And, speaking of bad Yankee teams of the second half of the '60s, the reading public is breathlessly awaiting biographies of Horace Clarke, Steve Whitaker, Dooley Womack, etc.

These bios are in the works, but the ones about Bobby Cox, Dick Howser, and Gene Michael take precedence. It's a management thing . . .

Good luck!
