Has the little gem lost its lustre???

Well, how many times have we heard this:

"As you all know by now, this is "My Little Gem." This stock has pulled off its $9.00 high and has started to pick up some momentum again."

Well, now it's pulled off $6, I suppose about to reclaim momentum once again???

JC,

In fairness to sporthunter ... I would like to mention this. He first mentioned CKSW in 2008( I think or early 2009) and was buying it then. I remember at the time thinking that his purchase on the day of mention was a high percentage of the stock's volume that day. I have volume restrictions in my trading regimen so I couldn't consider it.

In any event, the ticker is still up 200% since then in spite of the recent underperformance. Sporthunter is crowing about what has been a very good pick and I do think most people are aware of the risks and know to sell when the ticker starts printing lower closes.

To Sporthunter's credit he did just chort absolute tops in FCX n PCU. Thur "should be" a final retest o'the high so we shall see ifn he gits skeeerd outta those long term chorts like he got skeeerd outta APA. He's done a terrible job with CKSW on his last 2 trades tho. Not nearly as bad as Mighty Mouth with his baby STEC of course. It's gonna be fun to watch fokes try and bottom fish thur fav-o-rights as they move on to new 52 week lows. I keep razzin Mack about DNDN simply cuz he has no clue what is in store for the pig. That one in purrticular will be fun. I'm anxious to see what Mack says at various stages o'the coming collapse. And it WILL be a collapse....that'll be the only werd to describe it. :-) 3J

TB,
I think it's usually a mistake to attach oneself to a single stock, however, I find myself attached to the idea of a single stock from time to time as well but I make sure to diversify around it and to become increasingly suspicious rather than elated. At the same time it seems that the stock market can become akin to gambling which one should avoid at any cost as gambling is never a good strategy no matter how one approaches it except to profit off of another's gambling disposition.

JC,

There really isn't anyway to remove all the relationship the stockmarket has to gambling. It's actually worse than gambling in many respects. Take for example with blackjack. The house merely enjoys a 2% advantange over the players. Of course, given sufficient hands, they are going to take a significant portion of the players money.

I think the odds are worse with the stock market. And the reason I think they are worse is because we are "spoon fed" the information up which we act ... or at least we are expected to act upon this information. Furthermore, it is manipulated with coordinated efforts by the big players who actually are just trying to wring a rather small portion (relatively speaking) from the small speculator. The game is rigged against the small speculator.

As for profiting from another's gambling disposition ....

Let's be honest here. Your strategy of selling out of the money puts against your cash is just that. Profiting from someone else's risk-taking. You literally sell risk which is unlikely to be associated with reward. Now let me be clear, I am not condemning you for it. If you recall, I complimented you on this strategy. All the same ... it is what it is.

In regard to Sporthunter, I do think it is unfair to presume he is trying to round up buyers to sell his share's to (not for sure even if that was insinuated). He can get out of his shares "just like that", almost instantaneously. I really don't think these blogs move the market in a way that an individual can profit from it anyway. I see his blogs as a "pat myself on the back" kind of thing. Often, they are within a few percent of good selling points. But this is true of all of us. When we have a good winner ... there is some profit probably worth taking.

Once again, CKSW makes a new low today that is gonna be taken out (5.22) ....so ifn you go to Sport's last CKSW WOOHOO bored you will see that the buy target I gave (whenst it twas up thur at 5.88) "looks like" it "might" end up being spot on. The windup? The next time Sporthunter WOOHOO's about CKSW he should give me the credit! LOL Look at the move from 7.50 to just under $5 dollahs too. Even after he made his third buy off of the dump from the 7.50 area wherst he WOOHOO'd it....down at 5.25...I said it twas going to take out his buy point. Now to me it ainna no big deal cuz as eveybody here knows...I AM the markets...and I can make any stock do anything I tell it to do at any time. Those are proven fax. The point for Sport to remember is that I will keep attacking him every single time he WOOHOO's unless he makes a "proper" buy call. Yuns "might" have noticed that I hate WOOHOOers ifn they don't deserve to WOOHOO. Sporthunter can step up and make the next buy call if he gots the gutz. We all know that it is veeeery difficult for most fokes to make proper entries....purt near impossible for 90% o'the reglars at this purrticular site in fackt. So what ifn I have an "unfair advantage"....I invented it...I deserve it. "The house" has absolootley NO CHANCE against me. :-) As always....your humble n luvable servant >>>> 3J

well, well - I'm glad see people are finally taking a interest in "My Little Gem". For those of you that feel I quietly exited my position, I recall attaching a blog to indicate I felt the overall market would retract and I was taking gains on all my positions,. As JoeJustJoe mentioned, opened sell positions on a few this past week. Since I can't live on the computer I have to enter positions here sometimes losing a full days profits because of when I enter the positions. That being said, I have mentioned and will reiterate my feelings that any pullbacks on CKSW are buying opportunities. If you take JoeJustJoes mark of $5.22 and going low - you would be in a losing position. However, if you used it as a buying opportunity you are up since today it closed at $5.41. I also, mentioned that CKSW tends to take a hit on the stock price when the dollar strengthens which has been the case with this recent pullback. This is not a underperformance of the stock. This can be a long term buy and hold or a short term buy and take profits on nice little moves. As Joecole mentioned I think I'm the one smiling since my orginal position opened at $1.80 and all the buys I made in the $2's and $3 dollar range. JoeJust Joe is my little puppet (pulling his string) for my daily entertainment. Happy Trading

Hey, thanks for the nice 3% profit today. I hope none of you took it as a buying opportunity and let the rest of us earn money. By the way, did you read the news that came out regarding CKSW. That's right stay on the sidelines, while we enjoy the ride. Happy Trading.

Well, after a pull back and some trash from JoeJustJoe, I continue to recommend CKSW as a buying opportunity. Buying at any range in the low $5's is a good move. Today it jumped from 5.16 to 5.40 closing at 5.38. Reminder, CKSW is sensitive to the dollar strength.
